Hello Team SCC,
At our all-staff meeting on Monday, I talked about the importance of fostering a respectful workplace. Ensuring we have a safe environment that allows our staff to provide excellent service to our partners is one the Leadership Team’s top priorities. Our “Respectful Work Environment” policy 23-04 Respectful Work EnvironmentPolicy.pdf is an important starting place, but we recognize we have more work to do to provide resources and tools to staff who may be experiencing disrespect.
We will be revisiting this topic often as we build out our capacity to hold ourselves and our community to the highest possible standards of professionalism.
Here are a few other highlights from leadership:
We have submitted our supplemental decision packages, which include:
Jean, Lori, and Sarah Wilcox are working with WACD to construct the agenda for the WACD 2025 Annual Meeting, which will be held in Spokane this December. This event includes supervisor training provided by both WACD and SCC regional managers, as well as an SCC agency update.
We discussed final preparations for the Sept. Commission meeting. The final agenda and meeting packet can be found on our Commission Meetings webpage here.
Finally, we recognize that we haven’t previously had formal mechanisms to bring issues forward from the staff level to the Leadership Team. In the coming weeks, we will be providing you some tools and structures to help make sure that important information from staff is reaching leadership.
Thank you for all you do on behalf of SCC, and for your continued engagement during this time of change.
James
