LT Bulletin - October 3, 2025

Leadership

Hello SCC,

With James out today, I’m sending the weekly Leadership Team Bulletin. As we go into the weekend, we want to thank you all for the work you do on behalf of our mission. We are fortunate to have such talented and capable people working day in and day out to advance voluntary conservation across our state. Your work is seen, appreciated, and recognized by everyone on the Leadership Team.

Here are a few brief updates from our in-person Leadership Team meeting this week:

  • We continue to evolve the conversation around our Respectful Workplace policy and ensuring we have the right approach and tools for employees. Our goal is to have some concrete next steps to share by mid-October.
  • WACD Area Meetings are coming up soon and either James or Dani will provide a short presentation on behalf of SCC. We will come with a handout describing our decision packages, and a PowerPoint that outlines the engagement process we undertook to get to our decision packages.
  • Preparations are underway for the WACD Annual Meeting and Conference, which will take place in Spokane Dec. 1-3. At this event, regional managers assist WACD in providing training for conservation district supervisors, SCC leadership shares legislative and agency updates, and SCC conducts an election for the Western WA Commission member position. Call for Candidates: Western Washington SCC Elected Commission Member Position
  • Work continues on building the agenda for our December Commission meeting. If you have a topic you would like to potentially have on the December meeting agenda, please discuss it with your supervisor. Supervisors can then bring those ideas to the Leadership Team, where we will determine the final agenda.

Thank you,

Kate
