Team SCC,

Tomorrow is the Thanksgiving Day holiday, a time to collectively pause and give thanks for what we have in our lives. The Leadership Team and I would like to express our gratitude for you, our amazing team who does so much every day to advance the cause of conservation in Washington.

This year, we’ve worked on many important improvements. We’ve been deliberate about listening to our partners at conservation districts, and we’ve endeavored to adopt more of a project management, continuous improvement mindset at SCC. Change isn’t easy, but your dedication to showing up and putting in the effort needed has made a remarkable difference.

We will continue to think through how we are structured and how we deliver the best possible service to conservation districts and other partners we serve.

As 2025 winds down, I want you to know that the Leadership Team and I see and appreciate all that you do. We are committed to continuing dialogue across our agency and into the broader community about treating each other with professionalism and respect, which in turn allows us to improve our service delivery.
