Update Your Outlook Settings to Default Meetings to 50 Minutes
To help us build healthier schedules and reduce back-to-back meeting fatigue, please take a moment to update your Outlook settings so that all meetings default to 50 minutes. This small change gives everyone a buffer between calls and helps improve focus and productivity.
How to set Outlook to default meetings to 50 minutes:
1. Open Outlook.
2. Go to File > Options.
3. Select Calendar from the left menu.
4. Scroll to the Calendar options section.
5. Check the box for “Shorten appointments and meetings.”
6. Set the dropdown to “End early” and choose 10 minutes for meetings longer than one hour or 5–10 minutes for shorter meetings.
o For 1 hour meetings, choose 10 minutes to end at 50 minutes.
7.Click OK to save your changes.
Once set, Outlook will automatically schedule meetings to end early—no extra steps required.
Thank you for helping us create a more balanced and sustainable meeting culture.
