For supervisors:

Sharing with you two recent fraud cases identified by State Auditor's Office. These happened at Department of Natural Resources & Department of Agriculture. In both cases the employee was able to defraud their supervisor and in turn the agency.

For the case of the timesheet fraud, it’s important to be aware of your staff’s workload and to be checking in with Lori if you have concerns about work not being completed in accordance with timelines/deadlines given to staff.  

For the travel reimbursement case, this is one reason we prefer the SCC credit card be used to verify the charge took place during the period in question. It’s important that as supervisors you have an awareness of when your staff are traveling and can confirm the business need when approving the request.
