The 2024 Employee Engagement Survey is open!

The 2024 Employee Engagement Survey has launched for all state employees by the Office of Financial Management State Human Resources in partnership with the Governor’s Office. This year’s survey will be done electronically. Please click this link here to take the survey now. The survey will remain open through October 31 at 11:59 p.m.

We want to hear from you!

As many of you know, SCC has been surveying its employees for years. I look forward to hearing from you and using your feedback so we can improve in areas most important to employees. I will be working with Lori to look at past trends to present to staff at a future all-staff meeting. If you are not familiar with the survey, here is some background information.

What is the State Employee Survey?

The survey is confidential and asks for feedback on topics such as process improvement efforts, whether employees have the tools they need to perform their jobs effectively, and whether employees know how their work contributes to the goals of their agencies. Previously done every other year, it is now conducted annually to offer better insight on whether improvement/change initiatives are having the desired effects.

Why is the survey important?

Governor Inslee and state managers periodically gather and analyze data about the strengths and challenges facing state government. This survey gathers consistent data from employees about their jobs and work environments. Responses also allow us to evaluate our progress in Washington state as an employer of choice. Reviewing our own agency results will help us identify internal opportunities for improvement.

What you can expect?

The survey asks several broad demographic questions and a number of questions that can be answered with responses ranging from “almost never or never” to “almost always or always.” The survey should take 5–10 minutes to complete.

What happens to your response?

Completed responses will be compiled in a database maintained by the Office of Financial Management - Human Resources Division. Our agency will receive a summary report showing how we are doing internally, as well as how we compare to other agencies. We’ll be able to review the results together as a team once they are released.

Thank you in advance for your participation. If you have any questions, please contact Lori or myself.
