We know information and requests come at us from all directions. One area that feels particularly energetic lately is requests from other agencies for SCC to review and/or comment on their draft plans, guidelines, or other documents. Many of you engage in interagency committees or workgroups that may result in a request for your review, or you manage programs that are aligned with a respective request.

If you receive such a request or learn about a request during the course of your work, please forward that to me and Dani Madrone. The Policy Team will review the request and determine how to proceed.

Depending on the request, the Policy Team’s next steps may include engaging with SCC’s subject matter experts, consulting with conservation districts or other agencies, and determining alignment with the agency’s strategic plan and authorizing environment. Our goal is to be coordinated and strategic in our responses and to ensure we’re making the best use of our limited agency resources.
